The original Ferris wheel was designed by an American, George Washington Ferris, in 1893 for the Columbus memorial
fair in Chicago to compete with the Paris tower built by the 1889 fair in Paris. The first wheel weighed 2,200 tons, could
seat 2,160 people and was the height of a 26-story building. Because of his achievements, people later called this kind
of equipment "Ferris Wheel", which is also known as Ferris Wheel.
